In MBG we isolate, select and study several algal strains, among more than 100.000 species spread all over the world, according to their natural potential use in the nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, medical, agricultural field.

Our algal bank contains hundreds of mono-specific cultures including:

  • Arthrospira platensis
  • Haematococcus pluvialis
  • Phaeodactylum tricornutum
  • Euglena gracilis
  • Porphyridium cruentum
  • Chlorella vulgaris
  • Dunaliella salina

MBG has established a real campus, covering an area of 2000 sq.m., that lodges the management team and houses a research area with biological and chemical laboratories and a productive area equipped with new generation technologies to support large scale production of microalgae.

This organizational structure allows us to follow the entire production system, designing and building species-specific systems for producing, harvesting and processing the algal biomass.

Both, the technologies developed by the company and its location allow a continuous annual collection cycle and a microalgae production with sustainable costs, ensuring the high quality and the traceability of the process.

The MBG microalgae:

  • Large scale production of algal biomass (tons / year )
  • Controlled chain – local production
  • High quality standards
  • Optimization and extraction of active compounds
  • Custom growing and harvesting systems
  • Research and development
